A man has been taken into custody following bogus reports of a hostage drama in a hotel room at Melbourne's Crown Towers.
After arriving at the hotel police found the 45-year-old from New South Wales in the room alone and had made the reports that a man was being held hostage.
Police responded to the call shortly before 5pm and the situation was resolved about 30 minutes later.
They say the man has been taken for medical assessment.
Competitor, Tabcorp's - Echo Entertainment's The Star (ex Star City Casino) relaunches this Thursday (15th September). Insiders are not expecting Crown's James Packer to be there, but friend Russell Crowe is strongly rumoured to be there. Yes, the Australian casino wars are back on kids.
