In an Indy first, a movie will be premiered as part of this year's Nikon Indy 300 official list of off-track events.

The Australian premiere of Death Race will be held on Saturday at Pacific Fair, kicking off a full week of action.

More than 35 events are listed on the official off-track events calendar, including go-kart racing, jazz shows, the usual driver breakfasts and Bartercard Miss Indy parties.

Death Race stars Jason Statham (The Bank Job) as a three-time speedway champion who is forced to compete in a death race with inmates from a notorious jail.

"It's something a lot different for us," he said.

"Our off-track events calendar now really has something for everyone.

"You've got your high-octane parties and starting parties but also the movie. We're really pleased with the events we have on the calendar this year. It really is a diverse range."

Another Indy first is the elite '300 Club', which will feature four fashion parties over the four nights of Indy at the Temple Village in Surfers Paradise.

This year, the Indy Gala Ball has been combined with the Bartercard Miss Indy grand final, at Conrad Jupiters, on Indy Friday, October 24.

Earlier off-track entertainment will include the Sing Your Way to the Nikon Indy 300 karaoke grand final this Friday, the Indy Hop rock 'n' roll dinner dance this Saturday and the Jazz It Up on the Catwalk event on Sunday, October 19.

Following those will be cocktail parties, the annual beach volleyball challenge and the celebrity Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament.
