MaximBet offers NIL deal to female college athletes in Colorado

MaximBet offers NIL deal to female college athletes in Colorado

Online sports betting brand MaximBet has announced that it is offering a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deal to every female student athlete at Division I, II and III colleges and universities in Colorado.

MaximBet gained market access Colorado earlier this month.

The deal will offer a cash payment and merchandise rewards, along with an invitation to the MaximBet “Max-querade” Party in Denver on October 30 to athletes who contact MaximBet to sign up.

To become eligible, female athletes must follow MaximBet on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter and send a direct message showing interest in such a deal on any of these platforms.

“We really value our position within the Colorado community, so what better way to show our support than by supporting student-athletes in Colorado,” Doug Terfehr, VP of brand and communications at MaximBet, told iGB.

“This is uncharted territory working with student athletes and providing them an opportunity to leverage their name, image and likeness, make some money and maybe have some fun on the way.”

The athletes will also be asked to feature the brand on their personal social media channels. The two athletes with the highest social media engagement will receive a further payment in addition to the initial cash payment.

This is the first NIL deal offered by MaximBet. Deals along these lines only became possible earlier this year, when a Supreme Court ruling earlier this year allowed NCAA student athletes to take endorsements.

“We wanted to be one of the first brands that showed support for student athletes after NIL became an option, but we also wanted to take a different approach” added Terfehr.

“A lot of deals have been with male athletes or only at the division one level, but we wanted to support female athletes across the whole NCAA.”

Since August, MaximBet has also gained market access in Arizona, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
